1.  What is the work?

Living-in care is rewarding and valuable work. After your training, we choose a client for you who matches your skills and experience.

You will live with your client in their own house, making sure they are clean and warm, safe, comfortable, well-fed and happy. You stay for at least a week at a time: usually many weeks at a time. You are a cook, housekeeper and companion. You will also give as much personal care as they need.

While you are at work, and especially over your first few weeks, we will be in touch regularly to support you and help make your work a success.  You will be in touch with us, too, if you have any problems.

WE WANT YOU TO FORM A GOOD RELATIONSHIP AND RETURN AGAIN AND AGAIN

2.  Do I have lots of clients ?

Living-in care is seven days a week. No care assistant can stay with the same client "forever”, however much the two of you get on.

We aim to build up a small team of clients for you, so you will have as much work as you want, as well as the variety of working with more than one client.

However, you may strike up a close bond with your client and wish to stay there for many weeks at a time. Provided your client agrees, we will support you.

Or you may wish to move from one client to another, helping a wide variety of people all over the UK. If you are a good care assistant, we will support you in this too.
