Living alongside a care assistant

Part of our role as an introducing agency is to suggest an appropriate fee level for you to agree with your care assistant.  Normally, you and your care assistant will have a letter of engagement between you, to agree this and also the number of weeks your care assistant should work for you.

We must expect that your requirements will change over time and with your permission your care assistant will note any changes and pass them to us so we can update your guide.  These instructions can then easily be shared with other care assistants.  Our feedback calls to you, together with our regular visits to you, will give us the chance to discuss changes with you and correct any misunderstandings.

If we feel that your moving and handling may involve significant risk to your care assistant, we may need to carry out a risk assessment so that we can recommend additional equipment or techniques to protect the safety of the care assistant.

We recognise that all our clients are vulnerable.  Although we can examine risk factors and make recommendations to reduce or eliminate them, we cannot be responsible for events in your home.

Support and feedback

To make sure that our introductions are successful, we offer clients our support whenever they need it.  If a client would like us to speak with a care assistant on their behalf, we will be happy to do so.  We will also ask our clients for their views on the suitability of the care assistant we have introduced.

Ideally, if the client is happy for us to do so, we like to visit our clients and their care assistants face-to-face. If clients agree, we will also have the facility to offer support and advice to care assistants if they contact us.

We like to have an accurate guide to your wishes
