A massive congratulations to our wonderful Training Team on winning the Excellent Training award at last week’s Suffolk Care Awards.
“This live-in care service recognises that having outstandingly-trained carers will improve its service to carers and clients and allow growth, despite competition.
Its induction programme takes place over 11 days and is closely linked to the Care Certificate. There is also a two-day dementia awareness course.
Because the organisation works across several local authorities and CCGs, there is an advantage of being able to tap into the developments in those areas and this is incorporated into training programmes.
The organisation has thought long and hard about the best way to deliver a package of training support that enables and empowers carers to work intensively with customers.”
Suffolk Care Awards 2018
Christies Care also received ‘Highly Commended’ in the Student Placement /Apprenticeship category.
The 2018 awards, held at Greshams in Ipswich on October 4th, look to shine a light on the amazing individuals, care providers and care companies who do the crucial job of caring for Suffolk.
The training offered is underpinned by a good understanding and implementation of individual learning styles and varying outcomes. There is also evidence of good use of current practice and thinking.
“This is such an achievement. We are all very proud of this award, the team are so deserving of it.
We had a great time. The food, company and atmosphere were excellent. The only time we went quiet and held our breath was when our award category came up. When we heard Christies Care announced as the winning team I am sure our cheer could have been heard within a ten mile radius!
This is recognition of the hard work and dedication to making sure the very best training is delivered to our carers and for always being willing and able to guide our carers and clients through some uncertain times.
It was also lovely that we were joined by our client, Becky Page, and her lovely carer, Sarah.”

STUDENT PLACEMENT / APPRENTICESHIP
The placement is one which provides real opportunities for the development of students and the outcomes of the service, as well as the individual.
“We were delighted to have been nominated as finalists for the Suffolk care awards in the category for student placements and apprenticeships.
We are pleased to have been working with Key Training to secure three apprentices to work in our offices – this has proved a very successful project. It is nice to be able to offer the apprentices a platform into the work place, these individuals are.
Supported by our Internal Management Consultant, Tim Middleton, apprentices Jenna, Lucy and Hana have fitted in seamlessly with our existing teams, rewarding us with hard work, energy and ideas.”
The Apprenticeship Team
“We are very proud to have won this award which recognises our commitment to the training and development of our staff. We work hard at Christies to provide a culture that fosters learning and growth, with the outcome that we can provide the very best quality care.
With further recognition in the student placement/apprenticeship nominations, we are assured that our industry-recognised development and training is delivering an unsurpassed level of service to our clients.”
Want to be a Christies Carer?
We’re extremely proud of the excellent standard of care our carers give to their clients.
This is a result of our rigorous application and selection process and the free, award-winning training our carers undertake, both as new carers to be and when they return yearly for their update training.
We offer the longest and most comprehensive training in the UK live-in care sector and are constantly improving and updating so our carers are fully prepared and capable of facing the challenges of being a live-in carer.
This is reflected in our attainment of both the Princess Royal Training Ward 2017 and an Outstanding rating from the CQC.
