This year Christies Care held their annual Community Day at Nowton Park, Bury St Edmunds.
As well as a learning disability and autism friendly circus performance from Circus Petite, there was a zumba class to take part in, a fun Sadhaka Yoga class, as well as relaxing with gardening activities and being pampered by the wonderful beauty students from West Suffolk College.
Throughout the morning the fantastic circus crew was on hand to entertain with balloon modelling and impressing people with their skills. As well, the talented Dotty Doodles Facepainting turned people into tigers, clowns and superheroes!
With something for everyone, there were smiles all round and some very tired clients and support workers by the end of the day! Feedback has been very good – people said how friendly and welcoming the staff were, as well as how marvellous the activities were.
“A massive thank you to everyone who helped bring the day together, it really couldn’t have happened without you all!
Now we just have to plan how to make it just as good next year!”
Sarah Rampling, Christies Care
We were happy to once again invite the wonderful Cherry Beesley of Simply C Photography to capture the joy and laughter of the day.

“Peter was kept entertained all day. He enjoyed the face-painting and becoming a circus clown.”
“Into our 4th year and our community day is building year on year, with Zumba, Yoga, pampering, face painting and potting up plants amongst this year’s activities to choose from. Rounding off with a performance of Circus Petite in the afternoon, we had lots of smiling faces from those who attended.
Our community day goes from strength to strength and we hope to repeat in 2020. A big thank you to the staff at Nowton Park, Bury St Edmunds who enabled us to put this event on in their park and for providing some delicious cakes in the afternoon.”
