Hourly Care in Hampstead & Camden

What is Hourly Care?

Hourly care provides you with an alternative to a residential or nursing home. Your carer can do anything from 1 hour a week up to providing round-the-clock support.

This means that you can stay in your own home, follow your own routines, keep your garden and pets, keep up with your friends and neighbours and live your life just as you want.

97%

A staggering 97 percent* of people do not want to go into a care home if they become ill or less able to cope.

Who has Hourly Care?

Anybody who needs any basic support, such as cleaning or help with medication to someone who would like full time care and wants to live in their own home. A Christies carer is there to help you to live life as you choose, in your own home.

For our elderly clients, it means that they can carry on living at home in Hampstead or Camden, with their husband or wife, garden, pets and familiar circle of friends and neighbours.

For our younger clients, it means that they can go to university, have a job, go to the pub, have a family and social life, and generally live life as they want.

Clients come to Christies Care needing help with a wide range of different conditions – from dementia to a severe physical disability (either acquired or congenital).

Our clients may need full personal care and help with all movement, or they may just want the companionship and reassurance of someone else being there.

You can have hourly care for as long as you like: a regularly scheduled few hours per week, to cover time off for a live-in carer or every now and again to cover while a family carer has a break.

Why Hourly Care from Christies Care?

Established in 1987, Christies Care is a family owned and run care agency. We have over 30 years of experience in providing fully trained and Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checked home carers throughout the UK.

One of the largest providers of 24 hour, 7 day a week home care in the UK and rated outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) we also have a branch in Hampstead supplying hourly carers on an hourly basis to those in the Hampstead and Camden areas.

We train all our carers to be companions, as well as to carry out the usual tasks of daily living such as cooking, laundry, light housework, and helping their clients get out and about. They give as much personal care and help with mobility as is needed.

Our Bookings team perform the complex task of matching the skills, attributes, outlooks and personalities of carers to suitable clients. They know the carers and spend time talking to clients and/or their families. This gives them the knowledge and the skills to assess which carer would ‘fit’ well with each client.

You can have hourly care for as few or as many hours as you like – from an hour a week up to several times a day. It’s up to you. Hourly care can be the difference between being able to stay living independently in your own home or being forced into a care home.

What does Hourly Care cost?

It depends on your wants and needs, but the total cost is normally between £20 and £28 an hour.

“Heather is an absolute credit to Christies. Dad seems at ease with her and she works so hard to improve things for him.”
Tammy (daughter of a client)
“Lynette was lovely! The whole family loved her but most importantly she looked after my father in law beautifully. He couldn’t stop singing her praises. I Would definitely recommend her for any care role.”
Jodie R. (relative of a client)
“Leon was great. I have a great interest in South Africa and the connection was great, he was a great source of companionship. This, coupled with his domiciliary care, was truly great.”
Mrs. R. (wife of a client)
