To tie in with Dementia Awareness Week from the 15th to the 21st of May, Christies Care is running two ‘Dementia Friends’ sessions at 11 am and 1 pm on Friday 20 May at the Old Post Office counters in Saxmundham.

The one-hour sessions will provide information and advice on Alzheimer’s and an opportunity to ask qualified experts any questions during or after the session.

Christies Care’s award winning training team will be running the sessions that are free of charge and open to everyone.

“We are very keen to support the awareness of dementia within the community and often open up our training courses to family carers. The Dementia Friends sessions are a great way for people whose lives are touched by dementia to seek support, information and advice.

Dementia is challenging for everyone concerned and, as well as practical support, we hope these sessions can also help to alleviate the sense of loneliness that so often goes hand in hand with the condition.”
