Christies Care brings home a win for Suffolk at the Great British (East of England) Care Awards
Christies Care proudly achieved a record five finalists and one winner at The Great East of England Care Awards 2014.
Kathryn Marshall won The Home Care Coordinator Award and has been shortlisted for the national award at The Great British Care Awards, to be held in Birmingham in February.
Kathryn fought off finalists from ENA Care Group, Sahara Community Care Services, Home Instead Senior Care and Axiom Crossroads Care to win the award for Home Care Coordinator. She was nominated for the award thanks to the non-stop compliments she has received from clients, carers and managers since being promoted to a senior role in April of this year.
Lin Barnes, Director at Christies Care, said:
“I am extremely proud of my team and how hard they all work. At Christies Care, we focus on training and recruiting the best in the business. Kathryn is a brilliant example: She goes above and beyond the call of duty for her team, regularly making out of hours visits to them to ensure they have the support they need to do a great job.”
As a Senior Bookings Team Leader, Kathryn manages a portfolio of 55 clients and a booking team of three staff with 70 clients between them. She advises another booking team of 10, with 300 clients between them.
“It was a real honour to be nominated. I was shocked! I work with so many people who are deserving so I was over the moon to be chosen.
I love my job because of my clients and the wonderful people I work with. No day is ever the same. I can honestly say I enjoy every aspect, even when there is a negative situation there is nothing more satisfying than turning it round into a positive experience.
The awards evening was lovely and the company wonderful.”
Congratulations to Kathryn and our other finalists: (l-r) Cheryl Cutting, Helen Drain, Lin Barnes and Mandy Boyce.
Good luck to Mandy, whose awards season continues. On November 28th, Mandy will be attending the National Care Awards, where she is a finalist in the ‘Special Needs Manager’ category.
