Monday saw the presentation of the second Christies Care’s ‘Extra Mile’ award.
Open to all our office staff, advisors and housekeeping staff, extra mile award nominations are submitted to the Directors by their peers for who they feel is most deserving by going that ‘extra mile’ in their day to day work.
This time the award has gone to not one but two of our staff – Jaclyn Baggott and Sarah Hostler
Jaclyn, the Local Area Advisor Manager, had gone to a client assessment and been welcomed by Mrs W who explained that her husband was still eating breakfast. She spent some time with Mrs W discussing her needs and wishes in regards to live-in care. When Mrs W mentioned putting the kettle on, Jaclyn offered to do this for her. Walking into the kitchen she found a gentleman (Mr W) laying on the floor with a cut to his head. She called an ambulance and administered first aid until it arrived. She stayed with Mrs W to ensure that she was OK until her family arrived.

Training Coordinator, Sarah, is part of our award-winning training team and regularly goes above and beyond, including visiting clients to ensure their needs are met.
“Thank you for the extra mile award, I really was not expecting it to be me!! As you could tell by the look of shock on my face. I really do enjoy my job at Christies and working with the people in it. No two days are ever the same and you never quite know what the day will bring.”
