We recently received an email from a clients son about the positive impact one carer had to his mother’s quality of life.

“No one, except her immediate family, has managed to get Mum out and about for circa five years (actually, if ever).

So what does Nuala do?  Ropes in the visiting carer, and the three of them get in the car and drive off for coffee and a chat – pure genius.

Mum’s happy as the visiting carer can distract her in car – Nuala is safe driving as she is able to focus.

Just look at this photo sent to me by Nuala. Wow!!! What a quality of life improvement defining moment!!

Today, she is driving Mum 10 miles to see her beloved sister (Mum utterly adored her), who is no longer able to visit due to health issues with her driver – Wow!

Just so you know, both Robert and I have shed emotional tears seeing this photo (for good reason).

Client Avis Mary Wyllie’s son, Graham

All of the office staff were touched to hear about Nuala’s person-centred care and what she had achieved. And especially that Mrs Wyllie was able to go out and enjoy time with her carers!

We asked Steve one of our Local Area Advisors to pay Nuala a visit at another of her clients, during which he presented Nuala with a hamper and card as a thank you gift.

“I visited Nuala yesterday to present her with a hamper from Christies Care.

She was genuinely surprised and touched with the presentation and happy to pose for a photo holding her hamper.

She said “Thank you so much, this means a lot to me. I am touched that my work has been recognised and I hope this inspires other carers to give that little bit extra for their clients and understand that they can often do a lot more for themselves than it can first appear. ”

Steve Elliott, Local Area Advisor

“I just want to say a huge thank you following the visit from Steve, who presented me with a lovely and very unexpected gift today.

I am touched that my work has been recognised and feel very proud.

Many thanks to all concerned.”

Nuala, Christies Carer

Well done Nuala!

We’re extremely proud of the excellent standard of free training our carers undertake, both as new carers to be and when they return yearly for their update training.

We offer the longest and most comprehensive training in the UK live-in care sector and are constantly improving and updating so our carers are fully prepared and capable of facing the challenges of being a live-in carer.

This is reflected in our attainment of both the Princess Royal Training Ward 2017 and an Outstanding rating from the CQC.
