The Social Worker of the Year Awards were established in 2006 with the aim of recognising and celebrating the challenging work of qualified social workers and highlighting the good work they do.

Described as the “highlight of the social care calendar” by Norman Lamb MP, Minister of State for Care and Support, the 2014 awards are being held tonight at the Lancaster London hotel close to London’s West End.

Christies Care is proud to sponsor the Adult Social Worker category for the 2nd year running. This award is for a qualified social worker who has made a difference through their outstanding work in adult care.

  • Amanda Jones, Birmingham City Council
  • Joanne Lowe, Birmingham City Council

“These awards acknowledge the dedication and hard work Social Workers do, usually over worked and underfunded.  It is a chance to celebrate their achievements and give positive media coverage, at a time when they are knocked so often.”

Also tonight, the 16th National Care Awards take place at London’s Hilton Metropole Hotel.

Christies Care’s Mandy Boyce is the final five for the Special Needs Manager category. Best of luck, Mandy!
